Kazuya Tanaka (田中 一也, Tanaka Kazuya) is a minor character. He is an above-average boy in Class 2-C who is athletic and on the school's varsity soccer team and thus idolized by many of the class' girls.

Toki Nagayama[]
During the Survival game, Tanaka asked Nagayama out on a date, and the manga hinted that it was caused by the Hanging Bridge Effect.
Tanaka became closer to Nagayama, and he is often seen together with her on the Trip to Kyoto, the Walking Festival, and in an empty room together (though we never see what happened there). They are also sometimes seen studying together.
The two of them got together during the school survival game story arc, making them the 2nd official couple in 2-C.

Etymology[]
- The name Kazuya means "one" (一) (kazu) and "to be, also" (也) (ya).
- Kazuya's surname Tanaka means "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta) and "middle" (中) (naka).
Trivia[]
- Kazuya is believed to do well academically.
- It is rumored that Kazuya's parents may be the owners of the Tanaka Supermarket that Yakumo Tsukamoto often visits, but this fact is still uncertain.
